Theatre is the closest thing to magic that humans can create. My time with MacTheatre has proven that I want to create that magic for the rest of my life. MacTheatre has taught me how to utilize my own, one-of-a-kind skill set. MacTheatre has given me the experience and, the confidence that I need to continue doing theatre for the rest of my life.

As I look back on the past four years, I’m proud of who I have become. And that’s due in large part to MacTheatre. I was allowed the opportunity to perform in roles on stage that taught me so much. And so much more than just singing and dancing. How to exist as a person with real substance. A person without a mask. MacTheatre taught me who I am, and I’m endlessly grateful for that lesson.

Through MacTheatre I have made connections with companies outside of the academy including Freeman, The Long Center, and Zilker Hillside Theatre that have given me more opportunities to learn and grow as a Technician. I have decided to attend Pace University in New York City next fall to receive a BFA in Theatre Production and Design, in a class of 16.

McCallum is a place where I learned to take constructive feedback, step out of my comfort zone, and build confidence. MacTheatre holds a special place in my heart because it embraces students from all walks of life. It taught us to be accepting of each other and celebrate one another. MacTheatre is a place where we learned to put our differences aside and work together towards a common goal.
